Who's in a Barrel Now ?

We're in a barrel when it comes to inflation. These days, a stock trader like me can go live inside a barrel as an inflation hedge and write covered calls. My choices for this blog post include dividend stocks (KMI) Kinder Morgan, and (UNH) United Health Care. Kinder Morgan was first mentioned back in February. Both stocks have held up remarkably well in 2022. UNH was at $455 per share back in January and has since risen to $530 a share. Revenue growth is projected through the next decade. It has a forward P/E of 21.54 and could be a stock split candidate. There are cheaper peers but UNH is a best-of-breed type of company. Another reason to hold UNH is that it is another stock with good optionality for covered calls and provides a safe ever-increasing 1.24% dividend. By the way, that dividend has risen for 12 consecutive years.

BALLERS: 24-year-old Kelsie Whitmore is living her dream by playing pro baseball as a member of the Staten Island FerryHawks. She has struggled with the bat and has yet to get her first hit on the Independent League squad but she made the active roster. Her most baffling pitch is a knuckle changeup with a nasty downward break. In 5.1 innings pitched she has given up 14 earned runs. Whitmore's pitching coach with Staten Island is Nelson Figueroa, who pitched in the big leagues for many seasons, and calls her main pitch "The Thing". “It’s the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen.” Maybe so, but the fact that this young lady is out there competing with some veteran minor leaguers says the world about her determination. https://ferryhawks.com/splash.aspx?id=splash_14
