Dividend Tech Funds

Inflation was the talk of the town in May of 2021 and the stock market reacted with panic selling. The idea that the 10-year Treasury will march back towards the pre-pandemic levels of 2% prompted a selloff in expensive tech stocks. In my way of thinking it seems very unlikely that interest rates will rocket much past 2%. As of May 14th, the Ishares 20 plus Year Treasury Bond Fund (TLT) pays a 1.6% yield. Since tech stocks got a bit cheaper, lets consider a pair of funds that focus on tech related stocks selected by top fund managers. Blackrock Science & Technolgy Trust II (BSTZ) and Blackrock Science and Technology (BST) both pay holders 5% per month. Meaning you can buy these funds and get paid to hold them. If you subscribe to to this website, I'll share a portfolio of such great dividend payers and how they work. If you think it's to good to be true. Fine. Take a hike. I don't care. All I know is these funds are a great way to change your life. On the other hand, if you are a high charging bull who likes the thrill of buying and selling option contracts perhaps 5% per month is not so thrilling. However if you are an open minded self directed investor looking for income the thrill comes from the chill. No reason not to try both approaches. Take the bulk of your nest egg and and look for such terrific divided plays (funds and stocks) that pay the bills. Dividend paying stocks that have active option contracts allow you to sell covered calls for additional paydays. Smart move. Especially if you look at this table.
